SOLVED: qBittorrent UI not responding

Postby Workdawg » Thu Mar 06, 2014 7:30 pm

I have a fresh install of Amahi on Ubuntu 12.04 lts and I installed qBittorrent to try and manage my torrents, but it's not working.

I can access the application just fine, but none of the buttons seems to do anything. When I mouse over the menus, they drop down just fine, but clicking seems to do nothing. I've tried clicking on just about everything, but nothing works.

This could be a browser issue. Have to cleared the cache or tried a different browser?

Also, not sure if you are aware, but Fedora 19 is the latest official Amahi supported OS. Ubuntu 12.04 is in maintenance mode, so no new features, apps, or app updates will be completed.

If you continue to have problems, you can file a bug report at https://bugs.amahi.org. We will prioritize it with other bug reports based on available resources.

Browser issue indeed... I can't believe I didnt even think of that. Works in both Chrome and IE8, but not Firefox 27.01

Thanks Bigfoot!

As for the install, I wanted to be on ubuntu. I actually added a few graphics cards to my HDA and am mining cryptos with it now.

Awesome. Firefox is getting to be a problem with a lot of web apps. Usually it's IE, but now seems to be switching LOL

As for using Ubuntu, understand your rationale. Just wanted to manage expectations.

I'm not sure if I should reply here, or make a new thread.

I'm having an issue with qBittorrent again now though. I've started using Chrome to access it, because of the above. However, it seems like I can't add torrent files to the queue for download. Clicking on "Add Torrent File..." or "Add link to torrent..." both bring up the proper dialogue, but when I add a torrent via either method on click on "Download", nothing happens. Both Chrome and IE seem to process the button click, but nothing happens after that. The page seems to be attempting to refresh, but the dialogue box doesn't close or anything.

Any other thoughts?

This may be a software bug with qBittorrent. It has not been updated in a while, not like the browsers. Might check their web site for assistance.

Will have to check to see if there is an updated version. Might be a good idea if you file a bug report. Please provide details and what Amahi version you are using, i.e. Amahi 7 or Ubuntu. We don't do much work on Ubuntu apps, but might be a simple fix.

I'm running Amahi on Ubuntu 12.04, I think the version is 6.3, but I am not totally sure about that. In my HDA UI, under settings -> System info, it says

Platform: 6.3
Core: 4.3

It seems I may have been a bit premature in my post. I tried adding a different file and it worked fine. I've tried a few different files now, and only the one I tried originally won't work. All files saved in the same location, all proper torrent files. Very strange, but I guess you can just ignore this now.

Sounds good. Have not had any complaints from other users, so must be an isolated incident.
