SOLVED: Apss not opening from Amahi Dashboard

Postby wyldeone » Mon Dec 16, 2013 7:09 am

Howdy Folks

Finally upgraded to Amahi 7 with Fedora 19, installed using x86 Fedora 19 Full DVD installation method.

After abit of messing around finally got HDA running as DHCP, have also opened an account with OpenDNS and have HDA pointing to it.

Started to install some apps and found the links from the dashboard do not open the apps and i get the following error message.
Proxy Error

The proxy server received an invalid response from an upstream server.
The proxy server could not handle the request GET /.

Reason: DNS lookup failure for: hda
This error appears for Sick Beard, Couch Potato and SABnzbd.

I have also installed the apps IPSecVP & DLNA but there links are working and bring up the correct web screens.

Any ideas?

Howdy

I've done the interactive troubleshooter twice now and everything comes back OK.

I've installed the app phpmyAdmin, the dashboard link takes me to http://phpmyadmin.myhomedomain.com, web page opens with login screen as expected.

Dashboard link for IPsec VPN also works no problem.

links for the following 3 apps dont work

http://SABnzbdPlus.myhomedomain.com
http://CouchPotato.myhomedomain.com
http://sickbeard.myhomedomain.com

i can however access these apps form the following

http://192.168.1.10:5050/home/ (Couch Potato)
http://192.168.1.10:8081 (Sick Beard)
http://192.168.1.10:25915/ (SABnzbd)

So the apps are there and working just can't access them from dashboard link, would be nice to work this one out as i use one or two remote computer to setup/use the hda.

Any ideas?

Cheers

Sounds like you have an issue with the ProxyPass routines for those apps. Is the HDA your only DHCP and DNS server?

Yes HDA is running as DHCP & DNS. I have disabled my DHCP on my router.

Never heard of proxypass, is there any setting that can be changed?

Ideally we should try to determine why it's not working for you. They work fine for me.

Recommend whatever browser you are using that you clear the cache and then try. If it's still not working, check your client's network settings to ensure it's getting the IP and DNS addresses from the HDA.

There are some things that you can change, but it will require modification of the ####-app.conf files in /etc/httpd/conf.d directory and a restart of httpd service.

I can put something in the wiki possibly later tonight as a work around if needed. We would prefer to sort out the issue versus putting a band aid on it. If this is isolated to your HDA, that's one thing but not sure if others have experienced the same issue.

Agree i don't like band aids.

I have install MATE Desktop on the HDA and it doesn't work from there either. I'll try my wife's laptop later see if it work from there.

I have also noticed and it may/may not be link but i have just noticed the Couch Potato & SABnzdb Servers from the Amahi Dashboard have stopped and i can't restart them. They were work when i install them but it seems they have stopped once i had reset the HDA.

Cheers

Something definitely wrong with your HDA as this is not normal behavior. Do you have all the OS updates installed? Can you check the log files in /var/log to see if there are any clues there?

I installed using the full fedora 19 DVD for the 32bit version then installed Amahi as per wiki page. I'm learning fast but still consider myself a noob. I downloaded fedora from their web site so assume it's the update version. Not sure how to check which version I got.

I have gone camping with family for a few days and left my laptop at home, will check log when I get back.

Actually what happened to mind term the remote terminal app? Seems to have disappeared from the app list, I assume it's not stable for release. Is there a replace as I may be able to access Hda remote just hope wife don't see me lol.

Everything else seems to work fine just these 3 apps.

Cheers for the help, nice learning curve for me :)

MindTerm does not work with Ubuntu or Fedora. There are options, such as SSH into your server.

Not sure what the root cause is of your issue, but there are ways around it. When you have a chance to explore the logs, please let us know what you find.
