Problems with Plex

I installed Plex as an Amahi app. However, I'm having problems: it does not seem to detect anything.
I have Greyhole.
Mounted SMB shares locally
Added the following folder to plex: /mnt/samba/Movies/Documentaries
No videos is listed in Plex
Triggered a manual deep scan. Still nothing.

Am I doing something wrong? Any permission issue with the SMB shares?

Check the permissions of the mount point. They should be first admin user:users.

Check the permissions of the mount point. They should be first admin user:users.
It shows:

Code: Select all

ls -la /mnt/samba/Movies/ drwxrwx--- 0 thomas users 0 May 22 17:53 Documentaries
which is the first admin user (I believe)

Looks like the permissions are incorrect. Should be 775 and appear to be 770. That may be the issue.

You are welcome. So is this resolved?

No :-(
But that appears to be because I might have not given the correct chmod. Are you able to tell me how to give the appropriate permission to the mnt/samba/ folders keeping in mind this was setup to mount them automatically as per the wiki?

Thanks.

The command would be:

Code: Select all

sudo chmod -R 775 /mnt/samba

Another question. Why do you need to point to the /mnt/samba location? Plex is just accessing files as read only, so no writing is taking place. I would suggest pointing it to the normal shares in /var/hda/files.

Good point... I don't know why I'm pointing there :? Perhaps, because using Greyhole I've been warned not to ever mess with /var/hda/files ...
