time to do another update...

I need help on finding where are the files from the web-app stored.
more specific I am trying to change the default download directory by editing the

Code: Select all

/var/lib/transmission/.config/settings.json
but although any other setting remains as I edited... the specifig option

Code: Select all

"download-dir": "/var/hda/files/torrents',
remains always the default. Where is this option "hidden" and how can I overcome it ?

ps: The server is always "disabled" while making the corrections.

thanx

ok time for some digging again.... while still cannot get a clue why the daemon always resets the default download location, (actually it seems it is the only property of the settings.json that will not be permantly saved!), I came up to this and I would like to have an opinion:

in the dir: /var/hda/web-apps/transmission/html ,
there is a file: amahi-transmision

Code: Select all

#! /bin/sh # # amahi-transmission: Starts the Transmission Daemon # # chkconfig: 345 96 02 # description: This is a daemon which runs on the server to download \ # torrents # # processname: transmission-daemon # config: # Source function library. . /etc/init.d/functions . /etc/sysconfig/network TRANSMISSION_BIN=/usr/bin/transmission-daemon TRANSMISSION_DIR=/var/hda/files/torrents DAEMON=transmission-daemon . . . .
so what if that TRANSMISSION DIR , makes the whole thing go crazy ?

I admint that my unix-programming is very poor :cry:

it's too bad not to be able to handle this particular setting of a daemon :|

Have you uninstalled and reinstalled the app lately?

There were some adjustments made a few months ago that might help.

I am trying to configure a remote for transmission on an android device(and eventually other machines).
I cannot seem to get the settings write as the remote app cannot find the transmission instance.
I have transmission working on HDA.

Maybe I should better ask
"Which Torrent Client should I use which will enable me to have multiple remotes on windows OSX OS7 and Android?"
I have purchased utorrent and Transmission. Transmission at least seems to work out of the box but I am unable to configure remotes other than the HDA installed browser remote.

Have you checked the Transmission web site or searched the internet?

Not sure if the community has any experience with this or not, but that's a start.

EDIT: If you are trying to access Transmission remotely, you have to expose the HDA app to the internet. You may have done this already, but wanted to point it out. There may be a specific port you need to use as well, such as 9091 which is what the web app uses on Amahi.
