Ajaxplorer - files displayed as directories

I've just installed ajaxplorer, but I have a problem.
Viewing and dowloading mp3s and jpgs work just fine, but when I try to access other file types it doesn't work.
For example, movies in the .mkv format and my Nikon RAW pictures in .NEF format are shown as directories instead of files, and cannot be viewed or downloaded. If I double click on of those files I get an error saying:
"opendir(Pictures:/2012/Mar 2012/DSC_6401.NEF): failed to open dir: "fsAccessWrapper::dir_opendir" call failed(Source:/2012/Mar 2012/DSC_6401.NEF"
Any thoughts anyone?

Did you check the permissions of the files? Ensure they are owned by a user and not root or apache. Also check that they are read/write enabled as well.
Are you using Greyhole? If so, do you have the mount_local_shares file script running?
Not sure if any of these are the cause of the problem. These are the two things I typically look at when having problems with files.

I've checked the permissions, they look ok.
I do run the mount shares locally with greyhole, and I point the ajaxplorer repositories to the /mnt/samba/Pictures folder for example.
On further investigation it seems it could be a file-size thing.
My .NEF files from my old camera are about 8Mb and display ok, but with my new camera they are 20Mb and those are displayed as directories.
I've tried asking this same question on the ajaxplorer forum, but didn't get any replies.
Probably more an issue with ajaxplorer then Amahi, or what do you think?

Yes, you are probably correct. It may be a limitation set within PHP. The values can be changed, but the key is trying to find which one to change.
If I find out, I will post the info.
What is your requirement for using AjaXplorer? We have other apps that might meet your needs. There is also a BETA app that might work and we can try depending on your needs.

I tried Ajaxplorer because I wanted to be able to access my files from anywhere, when I'm out traveling, for example.
Also, the Ajaxplorer Android App works quite nicely so I get access to my files from my phone.

Understand. Might I suggest you try OpenVPN ALS as an alternative.
http://www.amahi.org/apps/openvpn-als
It is a nice clientless VPN that serves the same purpose. It is done via a web browser and is more secure than AjaXplorer. You may be able to access some apps as well using it.
