Virus Protection

Postby ipdemons » Fri May 01, 2009 10:47 am

It dawned on me today that virus protection is probably a good idea on my server. I was wondering if anyone can suggest a good GUI virus protection solution that will scan for windows viruses. I've installed clamAV, but could not figure out a way to install clamtk. any ideas? Thanks

there is a fair bit of discussion on the irc channel how to package clamav for amahi.

there apparently are some issues with the version of clamav shipping with fedora 9. has some issues in starting or something.

but yeah, it's a great idea.

some of the ideas are to pick more recent version of these packages ...

hmmm why not use the source file and repackage that?
I think that this should be a default package in Amahi btw, not an app. Impact is negligible if you set it to scan between say 3 and 5 during the night.
It would be great if there would be an option for setting the schedules as well (have some preconfigured choices for crontab additions or conffiles for the clamav daemon, and download them from the amahi website during install/update).
