Error; Transmission out of date

I'm getting errors from my favourite torrent sites trackers, that the tracks are not accepting the old transmission version of amahi any more. Result, no more downloading.

Does anyone know?: Will the amahi version of transmission be updated automatic or do I need to do something?

Cheers,
Dan

Do you have the latest Fedora 14 updates? There is an RPM for Transmission that should update the web UI.

We will have to take a closer look at the Amahi app and see if we can update it as well.

I have the server on at all times. I did not change anything and did not update F14 or amahi by hand.
Do I need to try to give an update command or reinstall transmission or something?

Thanks

I would recommend you do the following as root user:

yum update

There will probably be many updates.

I did

Code: Select all

yum update
I got some 1300 updates. accepted them all and now I get when I want to download my files:
Tracker returned an error: I'm sorry but Transmission 2.1.1.0 is not permitted to be used
So I think transmission is updated now. But is still not 'new' enough

Is there anything that can be done? Tip anyone?
I'm getting in to trouble with my ratio on the torrent site, or I have to have a second non-Amahi computer on all day to run my torrents. Very bad for the planet, we don't want that. ;-)

Hello,

I am sorry to say that we have not had sufficient time to look into this more. I cannot say when will actually get to it, but it would help if you could file a bug. That will ensure we do not lose track of it. I will try to take a look at it tonight.

If you can try to find a solution that would expedite getting it fixed. We have limited resources, so it could be a while before we can resolve. We rely heavily on the user community to assist with these sort of problems as our small team of volunteers often gets overwhelmed.

Amazingly, when I check the Transmission web site, the latest official Fedora version is the one you now have installed. Seems odd that some sites won't allow it to be used, but I guess that is their choice.

I have not heard of anyone else having this issue. If anyone has similar problems, please post in this thread. Also if there is a simple solution, we would like to hear what it is.
