Transmission file premission and script search

Postby zeem » Sun Feb 13, 2011 4:11 pm

Hi all 1st post for me.

Im having trouble with the umask change in the config file for transmission. Changed it to 2 instead of 18. But I still can't delete the files after I moved them to a new location after completed download.

My solution so far.

Ive added my user account to the transmission group and did a reboot. Now I can change the files as i like. I did this by changing the file /etc/group
This leads me to a question. Is this much more insecure than having umask working?

This leads me to the next problem I have.

I need to find a script that sort out what type of file i've got and den sort it out to the proper share. So far I dont have a clue how to solve this problem. ive found a line in the json.config file witch should activate a script on completion.

cheers

Well read it before the post. But didn't find anything I could use.

The groupmembership solved the issue but i want to know if i did something stuid securitywise. Is this more insecure than using the "umask"?

Tried another user and the same problem. With the umask.

Im also having some probs with upgrading transmission but that might be the lack of fedora know how.

Well im just testing it so far before the upgrade.

Well have to say thank's for a great home server
