I installed the DLNA server but I do not know what to do to get it to work/list in dashboard. I tried figuring out how to configure in the dlna amahi.conf file but I'm lost. Very new to this stuff trying to figure it out on my own. Any help would be appreciated.

Have you checked out http://wiki.amahi.org/index.php/Dlna in the wiki? This is not a web app, so it will not list in the dashboard. It is intended to stream media to a client. You would use one of the cleint apps mentioned in the wiki to access the media.
