when i try to add new movies to my database i recieve this error message:


VCDSqlException occurred.

Line: 571
Message: mysql error: [1064: You have an error in your SQL syntax; check the manual that corresponds to your MySQL server version for the right syntax to use near "LIMIT 1" at line 1] in EXECUTE["SELECT vcd_id FROM vcd WHERE title = "Harry Potter and the Sorcerer\"s Stone" AND year = LIMIT 1"]

Unfortunately this is quite an old app. Development stopped in 2007, so it may not be compatible anymore. We will take a look and try to duplicate the problem.

Are you running Fedora 12, have all the latest security patches, etc? You might consider trying Open-DB as an alternative (http://www.amahi.org/apps/opendb). I use it for movies and it works well for my needs.

I check out the app and made a few minor tweaks. I could not duplicate the problem, so hopefully you can provide more info on how it happened.

i am running F12 yes, x86_64 installation

but i will do as suggested and use Open-DB instead

edit: installed OpenDB and tried to add an item... but there are no defined item types resulting in an error message

The item type '' has an illegal structure

Not sure what the problem is as I have open-DB installed and using it. Make sure you follow the steps in the wiki located here http://wiki.amahi.org/index.php/OpenDB.

Also, have you tried uninstalling and reinstalling VCD-DB to see if it works? Please let us know how it goes.
