eXtplorer Tips

Postby chaosdesign » Wed Jun 16, 2010 11:16 am

Hi guys,

Sorry if this is a duplicate but I could not find an existing thread.

I have found a Nice feature with eXtplorer.
You can create a new user, (no surprise there) But with that new user you can specify the Top level directory for that user.
  • Ie.
    /var/hda/web-apps/mywebapp/

    or

    /
This makes it so much easier and faster finding or navigating where you want to be, Edit config files or any thing.
I have one user set up to handle my custom web-app, from which i can run all my web-apps. More on this in another thread [yet to be posted].

The two downsides i have found that someone might be able to help me with.

  • I can't change the permissions for files.

The upload function is limited to 2mb file & 8mb total.

Comments, Tips, Suggestions, Questions ??
Post away.

Hello,

We have modified the application to allow for 32MB file size. Hopefully this should fix your upload issue. If not, please let us know. We can make further adjustments as needed.

You will need to uninstall/reinstall the application to pick up the changes.

Hello,
Since I tend to move digital photos and network OS images around I am finding the 32Mb file size a little too restrictive. Is there anyway you can put a guidance up in the Wiki to show us how to change this on our own?

Thanks.
