Gallery2 blank page error

Postby stueyboy » Mon Mar 29, 2010 12:11 pm

Hope someone can help.

Gallery2 was working fine a few days ago but now when I try to log in as admin or a user, I just get a blank page instead of the usual home page for gallery2. I have tried to delete the app then reinstall but keep getting the same issue. The error_log file has the following type of info..
[Mon Mar 29 20:02:06 2010] [error] [client 192.168.0.150] File does not exist: /var/hda/web-apps/gallery2/html/favicon.ico
[Mon Mar 29 20:02:20 2010] [error] [client 192.168.0.150] PHP Notice: Undefined offset: 7 in /var/hda/web-apps/gallery2/html/modules/slideshow/classes/SlideshowHelper.class on line 228
Is this related to my problem? My knowledge of Linux stuff is limited so any help beyond the simple fixes needs a bit of support.

Thanks

Stu

this looks like the webapp directory for this app is entirely gone!

did you run out of disk while installing?
did you remove it or rename it manually?

Thanks for the answer. The directory is all still there so no idea what is happening. I thought a delete and re-install would help but the same error persists so maybe it is some sort of config file. Looking on the gallery2 forums it seems to be some sort of PHP error but I don't know what to do to solve it.

you should not really be deleting any of that.

make the directory (make sure it exist). then uninstall. the directory must be there for the uninstall to work.

after you uninstall the app, install it again.

I'm not explaining myself well. I used the uninstall in the HDA control panel to delete the application then re-booted and reinstalled the application (there was a thread recently recommending that method) still with no success. The app was working until the end of last week. I have installed vTiger and Webmin since then.

Sorry for any inconvenience. This issue should now be resolved. Please uninstall and reinstall the application. You may also want to ensure your browser cache has been cleared as well.

Please report back if this corrected your issue.

Thanks for the help. Unfortunately that hasn't worked. I also have linHPA installed so not critical but I think Gallery2 is a better app overall. If there is some log I can post, let me know and I will do that.

Ok, so there is something else going on here. If you can post the Gallery2 entries form the /var/log/amahi-app-installer.log that would be great.

Also, have you tried uninstall, restart hda, then reinstall? Sometimes things just need a fresh reboot.

Ok the application was picking up cahced install files in the tmp folder so I deleted them and then rebooted the HDA and reinstalled. The fault is still evident and here is the log entry for it;

Hope this helps. Doesn't seem to say much out of the ordinary

EDIT: I just started to have a look at vtiger and I can't create a record in it so I wondered if that was related. I then uninstalled both applications, rebooted and installed Gallery2 and not vtiger but with no luck. Still ongoing

You are right, the log does not disclose any errors. This is mysterious and appears as if it could be specific to your hda. I have installed Gallery2 on a pristine Amahi hda and had no issues.

Is there any settings you might have changed manually to your hda or apps that were manually installed? It just seems odd that we cannot duplicate this problem now.
