that doesn't sound like fun tbf, i will have to have a think and make a decision over this. If i could just get VNC and plex/DLNA alternative to work then that would be a good start but i have tried multiple apps now and something is definitely screwed up somewhere because they all hang at the same stage of the install
Only difference between your setup and mine (besides hardware) is that I installed VNC first on my Ubuntu 12. Then I installed Plex manually without using the App.
Big hand to all the developers, I've been using Amahi for years, and it was only 6 months ago or so I upgraded from Amahi 6. On my little Atom D525 I am worried about updating to fedora 19.

Apps hanging during install often indicated network issues. Do you have a stable connection? Also I have seen where it says its still installing, but when you check in the Installed apps area it's installed. I watch the app install log to see activity so I know when the app is ready.

There is guidance in the wiki for doing a new install and adding existing Greyhole drives.

cheers bigfoot, going to try a reinstall this weekend i think and go with ubuntu again since its only the last couple of days any issues have arisen. Network is definitely stable i think it is just a bug that must have developed through something i have done down the line somewhere.

Thanks on the link for the drives, will definitely be useful that!

No problem. Just want to remind you there will be no app updates or new features for Ubuntu. Amahi 7 is our current supported release.

If you have to reinstall, might be worth considering Amahi 7.

You can check the settings tab on your HDA dashboard and it will tell you the verison. You mentione using Ubuntu which is Amahi 6. Fedora 19 is the only OS with Amahi 7.

No problem. If you are using Ubuntu it's Amahi 6 guaranteed. We only released Amahi 7 on Fedora 19 so far. If we move to another Ubuntu version, it will be at least Amahi 7 and maybe 8.

Not a problem. That's why I was warning you about Ubuntu being in maintenance mode :)

I just wanted to manage expectations about what's supported and what's not.
