I'd say it was related, but as you say, resolved now. And it's good to have the documentation here now.
One question (from earlier) out of curiosity, so not priority: do those MW servers (database, etc) restart automatically upon restart upon reboot of the server ?
SOLVED: MediaWiki Database Issue
Re: SOLVED: MediaWiki Database Issue
MediaWiki is a PHP web app, so nothing to start, stop, or restart. It stores its data in a database which does start, stop, and restart on boot.

Re: SOLVED: MediaWiki Database Issue
Thanks. I have no knowledge of php apps, so that's good to at least know, but I do recall from using my locally installed (laptop) bitnami mediawiki stack, that there's a manger window that you can pull up that allows you to start, stop, and restart two servers related to their MW: the apache server and MySQL database server. So when the database server began to work properly, immediately after I logged into it, I remembered that Bitnami servercontrol window, and thought that perhaps, in manual fashion, my log in, restarted the database server.
Thanks again for all your help.

Re: SOLVED: MediaWiki Database Issue
Ah, integrated a way to restart OS native services. The Amahi dashboard does that for some as well.
Glad to be of assistance.
