Owncloud6 Limited Drive Space

Postby danewood » Thu Jun 26, 2014 6:32 am

Is ownclouwd6 getting installed to / not /home? I was wondering because it says I only have 39gb of total drive space on a 3TB drive. According to the drive partition page the / partition is 40GB while the /home is 2.6TB. How can I move the owncloud6 app to the /home partition so I can actually make good use of it?

ownCloud uses a share for storage, so therefore it's on the / partition. If you want to move the share to /home, I don't see a problem. Just ensure you change the path in the Dashboard shares tab for it.

If you are using Greyhole, you could make the share part of the storage pool and leave it alone. Just a thought.

I have not modified anything from the default install so its however its installed form default. Single 3tb drive. So it should not be greyhole.

Ok, then the guidance I provided in my previous post should work for you. You can create shares on other partitions, just have to point them to the location via the Dashboard. After that, Samba will recognize their location.

Hope this helped.

I moved the share it still says I only have 39GB of free space. The share now points to /home/owncloud

I go to the folder I created /home/owncloud and there is nothing in it so I do not think its using the new location at all even though I updated the share path.

You have to update ownCloud settings to point to the new location. The app controls where the files are located by path, not share name.

Also ensure you moved all the files from /var/hda/files/owncloud to /home/owncloud.
