Hi,
I had a problem where my DLNA server did not find certain folders on the linked shares. After some novice debugging I found that there was a warning stating the number of inotify.max_user_watches was low (at 8192).
I have searched the mighty google and the wiki here and found that you can increae this number using...
sysctl fs.inotify.max_user_watches=100000
The help I found also says that to increase the number permanently, I must edit a file. However, I can't find this file on my Amahi server. Can anybody point me in the right direction?
The instructions I was following are from here:
https://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/Mi ... _DB_Update
Thanks
SOLVED: Amahi DLNA - sysctl fs.inotify.max_user_watches

Is this Ubuntu? If so, check out this thread.

Best to google for the OS you are using and you should find the answer.

Re: Amahi DLNA - sysctl fs.inotify.max_user_watches
Sorry, I forgot to reply to this (actually I forgot I had this problem until I rebooted the server and found my DLNA client was missing lots of files again).
I found additional information here that solved my problem.

After rebooting the server, everything seems to be functioning still. In this case, the issue is solved.

Re: Amahi DLNA - sysctl fs.inotify.max_user_watches
Glad to hear it's resolved.
Would you mind posting the info in the wiki? I would rather capture it there for DLNA to prevent loss of info. The link could change or go away completely over time.

Thanks in advance!

Re: SOLVED: Amahi DLNA - sysctl fs.inotify.max_user_watches
I would but I have no WIKI account.
When I requested one, I had a friendly reply asking if I really needed an account. I figured if I needed to justify my account request, it was probably limited to very 'special' individuals and never pursued it any further!!

Easy to get one. Just put in justification that you need to update DLNA page. The reason we have it this way is to keep spammers out.
