I installed VNC remotely through the VPN (I'm at work), but under Servers, it's always showing as "Stopped." I've tried to start it, to no avail. Same after a reboot.
Complete newbie here so any help would be extremely appreciated!

Re: VNC server will not start
Did you install Amahi VNC? Check the Amahi app install log located in /var/log for errors. Something might not of installed correctly.

Re: VNC server will not start
Here's what I got from the app installer log... I can't tell what if anything went wrong...
Code: Select all
======= app install begin @ Wed Apr 11 17:39:22 -0500 2012 ==========
Installing app id k7q32dwinp under /var/hda/platform/html ENV=production
/var/hda/platform/html/app/models/platform.rb:20: warning: already initialized constant PLATFORMS
/var/hda/platform/html/app/models/platform.rb:48: warning: already initialized constant SERVICES
patching file vncserver
Starting VNC server: 4:user [FAILED]
App: VNC installed
======= app install end @ Wed Apr 11 17:39:34 -0500 2012 ==========
Re: VNC server will not start
Yes, there is something wrong. You might consider uninstall/reinstall. I would also recommend you do this on the HDA and not remote using VPN.
