Webcalendar

Postby sjodrikur » Wed Feb 01, 2012 11:22 am

Hi,
I am totally new to Amahi and have been installing a few apps,
just to get an idea of the whole thing. I just installed
webcalendar and it does a strange thing. The link says http://webcalendar.heima.is
(heima.is being the domain i chose in the setup), but when I select it in the web gui,
I am redirected to http://guide.opendns.com/main?url=webca ... 1006&h=609
because it says I am looking for http://webcalendar/login.php?

The other apps are ok and open correctly with http://appname.heima.is

Not that it is a big issue, since I don´t know if I will use webcalendar or not :-)

regards,
Siggi

Hello,

Please check the logs to see if it installed correctly. The specific log file is /var/log/amahi-app-installer.log and should show if there were any problems.

It sounds like DNS problem, but oddly you say all other apps are working. You could also try uninstalling it, then reinstalling to see if that helps.

I have tested on a VM and it appears to be working. Please let us know if you still have problems.

Hi,
well it was a dns issue. After turning off the the dhcp server
on the router and starting it on the Amahi server- webcalendar works ok.

I had the router as dhcp server and the pool had the Amahi server
as the primary dns, but as we know there thing don´t always make
logic sense :-)

Yes you are correct, sometimes logic does not work. What I have found in the past is if you use more than one DNS server, the links don't always work.

What I found in research is the primary DNS is not always used. When it chooses secondary and it does not match primary, the lookup does not work. Best thing to do is make both primary and secondary the HDA.

I know this is a mute point now, but thought I would mention it.
