Hello,

The power outage may have caused some issues with your drive as cpg noted. Can you ping google.com from your hda? Does it have internet connectivity?

Might consider running the network troubleshooter to see if that detects any issues.

Cool tool!

(I had another power blip yesterday so today I'm running on a UPS!)

Using the Network Troubleshooter, I failed step 4 - DNS resolving for internal hostnames. Here's a paste to help troubleshoot: http://pastebin.com/r0zKNN6T

the problem is that the nslookups are not returning any of the local names. eg. hda, router, etc.

Code: Select all

# nslookup hda Server: 192.168.0.127 Address: 192.168.0.127#53 Non-authoritative answer: Name: hda Address: 67.215.65.132 [root@amahi ~]# nslookup router Server: 192.168.0.127 Address: 192.168.0.127#53 Non-authoritative answer: Name: router Address: 67.215.65.132

Ensure your ip and gateway setting on the HDA match your amahi profile.

Also, ensure the DHCP and DNS are turned off on your router. If not, that can cause conflicts.

By following some hints in the data I collected, I found the named log-file at /var/named/data/named.run.
In there I found some error messages:-

Code: Select all

zone 0.168.192.in-addr.arpa/IN/internal: journal rollforward failed: journal out of sync with zone zone 0.168.192.in-addr.arpa/IN/internal: not loaded due to errors. zone home.com/IN/internal: journal rollforward failed: journal out of sync with zone zone home.com/IN/internal: not loaded due to errors. managed-keys-zone ./IN/internal: loading from master file 3bed2cb3a3acf7b6a8ef408420cc682d5520e26976d354254f528c965612054f.mkeys failed: file not found managed-keys-zone ./IN/internal: loaded serial 0 running
so I looked around and found the .jnl files in /var/named/dynamic and renamed them to .bad (one for n2a and one for a2n). After restarting the named service, all was working!

So I think the issue has been the corrupt journal files, probably caused by the power outage. Now I'm running on a UPS, I hope these problems are resolved for good.

Not so fast....Tried to install a new app, and could not load it until I did a "service named restart". Surely that should not be necessary?

named log-file:-
