Videos5: Customize movie directory

I have my movies arranged as follows:
"/var/hda/files/movies/movies"
"/var/hda/files/movies/kiddy corner"
etc.
I have no movies in /var/hda/files/movies by themselves. I also happen to have spaces in the name of some directory.
I used the suggestion from the videos5 wiki:

mysql -uvideos5 -pvideos5 -e "update settings set value='/var/hda/files/movies/movies\n//var/hda/files/movies/kiddy corner' where name = 'paths'" videos5

But I don't think it worked because when I checked there were no movies listed. I also wonder if the first scan happens immediately or overnight.

I don't seem to get videos5 to work. I tried adding the paths to my movies but they just don't show up in videos5. I reinstalled, left the default location as is and tried placing some test movies there. Still, it doe not show them (even after waiting for the day after, so that videos5 gets a chance to index them). I'm quite frustrated!!!
