Permissions problem on mp3 files

Hello,
I am a new user of Amahi. So far very nice. Congrats.
I am running Amahi on a Fedora 9 virtual machine on my MacPro using VirtualBox.
Did:
Clean Fedora 9 + Amahi install.
Added a user "doc" using Amahi
Accessed an Amahi share "Music" from my MacPro as user "doc" using smb://
Copied a folder of music from another share (elswhere on network) to Amahi "Music"
Opened AmahiTunes under Shared in the MacPro iTunes
** Problem: --- The copied music does not appear in the AmahiTunes on the MacPro in iTunes
Tried:
Manually restarted the mt-daapd server (/etc/init.d/mt-daapd restart)
Does not change anything
Tried:
Manually restarting the background scanner on mt-daapd config page
Does not change anything
*** Solution:
Noticed that files copied to /var/hda/files/music where all permissions "600" with owner "doc:users"
Changed the permissions of all .mp3 to "644" keeping the owner as "doc:users"
Now the MacPro iTunes properly sees the files. And the mt-daapd config pages report correct number of songs.
Conclusion:
Amahi must insure that files added to /var/hda/files/music via smb:// sharing are permission "644" (minimum)
