Can't edit mt-daapd configuration

I have rebuilt my HDA because I could not get amahiTunes to work after several installs. I have a fresh HDA and I just installed AmahiTunes. When I access the admin page at http://HDA:3689 and I am unable to edit the config page. At the top it says this:

"Note that the following fields will only be editable if the configuration file itself is writable by the mt-daapd server"

How do I make the configuration writable, and why doesn't the installer do this?

Fixed mine by changing permissions of /var/hda/apps/amahitunes/mt-daapd.conf to 666

I don't know if this is safe, but it works. No admins have commented to offer help. No one offered help in IRC. I was able to edit the config afterwards from the config page at http://hda:3689

Couldn't remember my dang password to log in at work to post, had to wait till i got home. grrrrrrrr

You can't change any of the values on the admin page without changing the permissions as the previous post showed.

Another way is a little more involved but allows you to easily customize the server if you want.

using either command prompt or putty (telnet/ssh client) http://www.chiark.greenend.org.uk/~sgtatham/putty/
putty is definately easier, and since the new install is headless you might as well get used to using an ssh/telnet client to
work on your server if you want to do anything beyond the Amahi setup pages.

you would log in to the box as root
then enter text editor (i use nano) via

nano mt-daapd.conf

From there it's easy to change the settings.

I also have a copy of the old mt-daapd.conf file from the original mt-daapd website that fleshes out all the options available,
I can email it if someone would like, can't figure out how to add an attachment for the life of me. (or it may not be permitted.)
