Move download dir of sabnzbd to directory on other disk

Hi people,

I've got the following problem:

I want to change the download dir of sabnzbd to another external disk.
I've already automounted this disk in fstab, this works fine.
I was trying to make a symbolic link named "download" in sabnzbd that points to a similar called dir on th external hd. The problem is I can't seem to change the ownership permission from root to apache which i think is causing the problem?

Any idea?

(ps: i don't want to use LVM because it messed up my system to the point of reinstall)

Hope so too... eagerly downloaded Fedora, but clicked wrong and downloaded Fedora10 instead of Fedora12.

But used the install manual for Fedora12. Missed the Amahi install at the end.

Some time passed, fooled a bit around, tried updating Fedora10 to 12, and then finding out that my favorite application doesn't work on Amahi+Fedora12.

Endconclusion.. Re-burning the Fedora10 ISO for a reinstall.

does anyone have a good tutorial for installing it in F12? I already installed squeezeserver manually after the upgrade. But that was easy!

I got it sort of working doing it like so:

yum install gcc gcc-c++ python-devel
yum install pyOpenSSL
yum install python-cheetah
yum install python-yenc
yum install par2cmdline
i downloaded an unrar rpm from somewhere and installed that through the packedmanager

then got sabnzbd source from the website, extracted it and gave the command:
python -OO SABnzbd.py -v

now i can start it with SABnzbd.py -s 0.0.0.0:8080

I now have an really simple interface, but atleast i can download again

that worked for me! I traced back your method to the SABnzbd install instructions for CentOS, but that was an OLD instruction.

BTW, if you install RPM Fusion Free and then non-free, and 'yum update', you can 'yum install unrar', and you don't have to hunt for the unrar RPM. And, if I use ajaxterm to start SABnzbd with your line, close the browser tab, I can approach SABnzbd normally through http://hda:8080/sabnzbd. Is there a more sophisticated interface? Or were you referring to the text based interface?

I use Webmin to kill the SABnzbd process when I need to because my shut down button in the SABnzbd webinterface does not work. Probably because I'm messing up.... Is there a more elegant way that I should use? I guess I should install a startup script. I will do that as soon as my current download finishes and reboot.

We are currently working on SABnzbd and a few others that broke when we went to fedora 12, we hope to have it back out to you guys soon. Fedora 12 is using PHP 5.3.1 which a lot of apps have not been updated to use. We are working hard to get the broken ones fixed first.
