Sabnzbdplus one-click install not working

Postby bdaz » Thu Mar 21, 2013 7:48 pm

Hello -

I just bought the one click install SabNZDBPlus app. I installed it but it's not working (also bought Couch Potato which appears to be firing up fine).

Checked the install log and all it gives me is this:

---
======= app install begin @ Thu Mar 21 22:34:47 -0400 2013 ==========
Installing app id l87u14kg9n under /var/hda/platform/html ENV=production
NOTICE: redirected 'http://downloads.sourceforge.net/projec ... src.tar.gz' --> 'http://hivelocity.dl.sourceforge.net/pr ... src.tar.gz' ...

Your HDA services have been restarted.
Your HDA services have been restarted.
Adding system startup for /etc/init.d/sabnzbdplus ...
---

Given it's a "one click install" i don't really know where to begin troubleshooting.
So my question is two-fold:

a) has anyone had success getting SABNZBDPlus installed on the Ubuntu version of Amahi? (12.04.1) - if so, can you point me to a place I can troubleshoot config?
b) Can someone point me to a location for manual installation of SABNZBDplus for amahi? i'm not finding much in the forums/wiki/google.

thanks all.

The app install log reflects a successful install. Let's start with what sort of message do you get when trying to access it?

Please check the logs in /var/hda/web-apps/sabnzbdplus/log directory for errors. Ensure your browser cache has been purged. I have seen times where that causes issues.

One other option may be to uninstall. Then do a OS update if you have not already done so. Then try reinstall. There have been rare occasions where the depends for the app fail to install. I can provide a list of them for you to try manually as well if needed. Also may consider a reboot to see if that helps.

As for a manual install, there is no Amahi guidance for doing it. You would need to check the SABnzbd web site for that. Understand we cannot support manual installs.

I would hope that we can try to resolve this vs you doing a manual install. It helps us and other Amahi users to try and diagnose the issues rather than abandoning the one-click install in favor of a manual one.

I do the package updates for this app among others and it works well on my end.

Thanks for your quick response and offer to help.

I had rebooted the machine (that's what sprang Couch Potato to life) but to no avail. I checked the logs you pointed out below and they are empty, so I can only assume that everything installed OK.

I had also tried the uninstall/reinstall and no changes. I will uninstall once more, update the OS and then try and reinstall one more time and see what happens. I'd also flushed the Chrome cache as well as I was wondering if that could be the culprit.

Quick question: I notice the package configures Apache to place the application at the URL http://sabnzbdplus - is there a specific port that I could try hitting as well? e.g. http://hda:5050? I have no idea where to look up this config info in Apache.

I must admit I'm moving over from WHS after using it successfully for 4 years (the lack of support for 3TB HDDs was the tipping point for me). I've got a technical background, but must admit I'm dusting off my Linux skills that have gone unused for the better part of a decade. ;)

I'm having fun getting up to speed on something 'new'!

Thx again

Good to hear there are no errors in the log files. This almost sounds like a DNS issue. The app is on port 25915.

Have you tried the link from the dashboard or just typed it in manually? Just curious if that could be causing issues. Also recommend trying other browsers.

A ha! DNS is the issue!

I still can't hit it by browsing to http://sabnzbdplus. (FQDN subbed out by full local domain name of course) or by hitting just http://sabnzbdplus/

however I *can* hit the site by going to http://hda:25915/

So - how do I hack up the DNS entry on the Amahi box? :)

thx again for your support.

It's not that you need to hack it, but make it work correctly. Recommend you run the
Network Troubleshooter. That should point to the problem.

https://wiki.amahi.org/index.php/Networ ... leshooting

Also, you need to have the HDA as your DHCP/DNS server to work correctly. If this is not the case currently, that could be the issue.
