Subtitle script suggestion

Hey guys,
Not sure if one of you clever guys/gals can maybe redo this http://code.google.com/p/srtget/ to get English subtitles primarily for files at all (maybe even from www.opensubtitles.org)?
Unfortunately I have no clue when it comes to scripting, and unsure if anyone else is interested in this either.
