Small spot of bother with Sabnzbdplus

Postby stueyboy » Sun Mar 11, 2012 1:03 pm

I bought and installed a while back then uninstalled it. I recently just reinstallled it and can't get it to launch in the browser unless I go to the server and go to 127.0.0.1:25915 and then it will open. The original .ini file seems to be still there, so not sure if that is the issue.

Any ideas to get it to work? I might be missing something obvious.

Uninstall the app. Then go to the share "newsgroups" via command line.

Code: Select all

cd /var/hda/files/newsgroups
Remove the .ini file that is backed up. Reinstall and it should work fine. Don't know why it would not work for you with the backup .ini file unless it was from the RPM version. Seems like a DNS issue to me.

Thanks for the reply. Didn't think to look in there for an ini file. I've tried that and still no luck. It's strange that I can't access it as the other servers I have (Transmission, couch potato, subsonic etc.) are all available with their DNS entries. It's a moot point anyway as BT have now blocked newzbin2.es anyway.

Sorry to hear it still did not work. I have seen where some apps have DNS issues. There may be a small bug in Amahi that causes this to rarely occur.

You might try clearing the DNS cache on your HDA and client. I had this issue with phpMyAdmin and that helped. I have also been successful by installing another app afterward and for some reason it all started working.

No joy on either of those suggestions I'm afraid. The server isn't even available by using the ip:port address either. I can get it on either localhost:25915 or 127.0.0.1:25915 on the server itself

That is odd. Have you tried rebooting the HDA? This is a sly little bug and rarely pops up.

OK, reboot has fixed the DNS problem with SAB. Thanks for the help

Unsure if it was the install of another app or the clearing DNS cache that sorted it though.

I would venture to say it was the DNS flush and reboot that probably did it. Glad it's working for ya now.
