Updating Plex Media Server

Postby tomtheappraiser » Fri Nov 04, 2016 2:46 pm

When I log onto Plex it says the media server need to be updated. I did the
Yum clean all
Yum update

But I'm still getting the warning when I log onto Plex. Is there a way I can manually update it?

No. We know there is an update and working on it.

The app updates and the Amahi release of the latest Plex Media Server do not coincide. Recommend you just ignore the warning. Once we update the app, it will automatically be pushed to your HDA.

Gotcha. However, now I'm having another problem.

Since I did that, I can see all of my movies on Plex, but when I go to the play them the little "working" circle just keeps spinning and won't play the movie. The wierd thing is it only happens from my laptop. On the XBone it works fine.

I don't know if I need to address that here or on a Plex forum, but it only happened after I updated Fedora 23.

Sounds like a Plex forum question. However it could be a firewall issue.

If you have not done this yet, give it a try:

Code: Select all

systemctl stop firewalld systemctl disable firewalld systemctl stop rolekit systemctl disable rolekit
Unfortunately we don't provide support for the functionality of the app so can only help with Amahi configuration.

Is there anywhere we can track progress on this or help get these updates to go through? (code or financially?)

Best to submit a bug report for updates. That's the best way to track them.
