SOLVED: Plex issues

Postby davymac » Sat Feb 06, 2016 7:13 pm

I have an issue with my plex server from this afternoon, my daughter uninstalled it from the dashboard so i went back to the dashboard and clicked to install it again and it installed in seconds, whoch I thought was a bit strange. It is showing as installed on my dashboard but the server is showing as stopped.

I had a dig around the forums at previous advice and from the 'systemctl status amahi-plex' command the following was returned
amahi-plex.service
Loaded: error (Reason: No such file or directory)
Active: inactive (dead)

Feb 06 22:50:08 localhost.localdomain systemd[1]: Stopped amahi-plex.service.

Any ides if there is any fix or if I need to look at a fresh install. I'm presently running Amahi 7 with Greyhole for 2 copies of each file, I have a sizable library I don't want to lose but also would like Plex running as I work away from home and access it regularly. Any help greatly appreciated.

I also ran a fpaste --sysinfo and got this http://ur1.ca/ohmpi.

Please see if amahi-plex is installed:

Code: Select all

yum list amahi-plex
Also please provide the full text of:

Code: Select all

systemctl status amahi-plex
What you provided is cut off.

After I posted my initial post I had a go at installing Plex Server following the wiki but no joy there. I get an error message - The server is temporarily unable to service your request due to maintenance downtime or capacity problems. Please try again later.

The reason the app is not working is there is a problem connecting to the Amahi repo. Recommend you try as root user:

Code: Select all

yum clean all yum list amahi-plex
Please do not do other things if you are asking for help here. Trying to install Plex Media Server using the wiki guidance may have just made things worse. You will need to undo whatever you did from the wiki.

Ensure you have network connectivity when you run the commands above. If you get the same result as before, then there is something wrong with accessing the Amahi repo.

Any ideas for accessing the repos or is it a reinstall?

There appears to be an issue with the repo.

I have passed it on to our infrastructure team and it should be fixed soon.

Recommend you check it an hour or so to see if it's back up.

You can test it by using a web browser. Enter http://f19.amahi.org and if you get a message about it being a repo, then it's working. Any other response will indicate it's still down.

I would say a reinstall is not necessary at this time. However if you needed to do so, you would want to upgrade to Amahi 8. We are not making any further updates to Amahi 7 or the apps for it.

Just wanted to provide an update for the Fedora 19/Amahi 7 repo.

Our server went down hard and we are in the process of recovering the data.

Once it's back online, we will let everyone know.

Cheer Bigfoot for the update, I'm away from home but might be able to access my server and try to reinstall the repo over the next couple of days but failing that it will be another week before I get the chance. I'm glad to hear it wasn't something I was doing cos while I still consider myself a bit of a newbie I have learned a lot, especially from your help, over time. I really appreciate your assistance and always recommend the amahi community if I see anyone pondering which server to consider.

I'll update this post hopefully when my plex is up and running again.
