PLEX app - Blank Page error

Postby boxcarpilot507 » Sat Jan 30, 2016 4:38 pm

Hello team
I installed Amahi this morning, right after the downtime of the Repos
I just purchased (3 hours ago) the app for Plex one-click installer. After installation, I followed the instructions to run the 'chown' command
but I´m getting this:
http://pastebin.com/aH33SdD9

NOTE: I do not have any GreyHole setup, I ran it because here it says:
Special Instructions NOTE: See wiki guidance for use with Greyhole. If the service does not start properly, execute the following command as root user:

chown -R apache:users /var/lib/plexmediaserver

It should then start within a few minutes.

When I try to access the URL here:

I also ran this coomand

Code: Select all

sudo systemctl restart httpd
And now, I´m getting a blank Page Titled "Plex"

I decided to run "systemctl status amahi-plex", the result:

Code: Select all

● amahi-plex.service - Plex Media Server for Amahi Loaded: loaded (/usr/lib/systemd/system/amahi-plex.service; enabled) Active: active (running) since Sat 2016-01-30 16:59:14 EST; 1h 36min ago Process: 845 ExecStart=/usr/bin/amahi-plex (code=exited, status=0/SUCCESS) Main PID: 849 (runuser) CGroup: /system.slice/amahi-plex.service ├─ 849 runuser -u apache -g users /usr/lib64/plexmediaserver/Plex ... ├─ 861 /usr/lib64/plexmediaserver/Plex Media Server ├─1124 Plex Plug-in [com.plexapp.system] /usr/lib64/plexmediaserve... └─1250 /usr/lib64/plexmediaserver/Plex DLNA Server Jan 30 16:59:14 localhost.localdomain runuser[849]: pam_unix(runuser:session)... Just in case, here is the fpaste --sysinfo

Thanks, this is my first time with Linux in General, but you guides are very clear!.

You have to run the chown command as a privileged user.try preceding command with sudo or become root user if you set the root password:

Code: Select all

su -
If problems persist please submit a bug report. Login with Amahi credentials then choose Projects. Next select Apps followed by New Issue.

the problem is that of the proxyhost, we just changed that.
(not really a permissions issue)

for some reason, plex is moody as to where to listens, localhost or hda. the program seems to listen in all interfaces, as denoted by the * in this output of lsof -i | grep -i plex.

the user seems to be able to access

Code: Select all

http://hda:32400/web/
without trouble, however, so it's an app issue because it does not reliable work one way or the other (hda or localhost) as mentioned in bug 1648.

Ok

At this point, Should I run chown with su? or not?

You could check the permissions first to see if they need changed. However, based on the reply from cpg, this is not the issue with your install.

This is a flaky app and users often have problems for some reason. You can also consult the Plex Media Server wiki page.
