Could be a conflict. Recommend you try VLC media player. I use it on my Windows box with no issues.

I thought about vlc player, but unfortunately there is no vlc app available for vizio co-star. I've tried to sideload vlc beta for android on my co-star but it won't start.

That stinks. Not sure what else to offer with your streaming problem. Maybe do some searching on the internet for a similar issue. I am sure you are not the only one to have this sort of problem.
