SOLVED: Plex not setting itself as a server

Postby dylanduffynetwork » Sun Nov 23, 2014 4:24 pm

Hi,

I have Re-installed the Plex app. It installed seems to have installed ok but in plex it does not show a server,I can not see any link to publish as a server either

======= app install begin @ 2014-11-23 23:20:22 +0000 ==========
Installing app id y47iytek0u under /var/hda/platform/html/script/.. ENV=production
Your HDA services have been restarted.
Your HDA services have been restarted.
App: Plex Media Server installed
======= app install end @ 2014-11-23 23:20:50 +0000 ==========

That is my install log

Went into the /var/lib/ and deleted the plexmediaserver as suggested and done that - still same issue

I cannot access any files via Plex

This is because my HDA isn't classed as a server

What web browser are you using? Have you tried any others?

Is your HDA the DHCP and DNS server for your network?

EDIT: Is this realated?

Use Chrome - it doesn't work with IE

I don't use the app, so probably not much help. Did you see the link I provided in the previous post?

Seems like I have seen users who mentioned the Amahi Plex Media Server does not work with the PlexPass account. Are you a PlexPass subscriber? If so, this app may not work with it. You may have to install the PlexPass version I believe.

Getting this now
You don't have any media servers yet.

Download and install one and try again.

Maybe the Amahi Plex Media Server wiki page will help.

If you are wanting to stream pictures, video, and music then I recommend Amahi DLNA app. It works great with little fuss.
