SOLVED: Plex-Service Unavailable 503-Service will not start

Postby dylanduffynetwork » Sun Nov 23, 2014 12:25 pm

Hi all

Been using Amahi for about a week now got loads up and running and seems like a great bit of kit,

Plex is giving me grief though

Installed via One Click but when I go to the Dashboard I get

"Service Unavailable

The server is temporarily unable to service your request due to maintenance downtime or capacity problems. Please try again later."

So I try to manually start it as it shows a red light under servers

[root@localhost ~]# systemctl start amahi-plex
Failed to issue method call: Unit amahi-plex.service failed to load: No such file or directory. See system logs and 'systemctl status amahi-plex.service' for details.

Doesn't seem like it knows what amahi-plex is?

But If I ask the status of amahi-plex I get

[root@localhost ~]# systemctl status amahi-plex
amahi-plex.service
Loaded: error (Reason: No such file or directory)
Active: inactive (dead)

Nov 23 18:34:50 localhost.localdomain systemd[1]: Started Plex Media Server for Amahi.
Nov 23 18:34:50 localhost.localdomain runuser[11039]: pam_unix(runuser:session): session opened for user apache by (uid=0)
Nov 23 18:43:59 localhost.localdomain systemd[1]: Stopping Plex Media Server for Amahi...
Nov 23 18:43:59 localhost.localdomain runuser[11039]: pam_unix(runuser:session): session closed for user apache
Nov 23 18:44:01 localhost.localdomain systemd[1]: amahi-plex.service: main process exited, code=exited, status=1/FAILURE
Nov 23 18:44:01 localhost.localdomain systemd[1]: Stopped Plex Media Server for Amahi.
Nov 23 18:44:01 localhost.localdomain systemd[1]: Unit amahi-plex.service entered failed state.
Nov 23 18:44:04 localhost.localdomain systemd[1]: Stopped amahi-plex.service.
Nov 23 18:50:03 localhost.localdomain systemd[1]: Stopped amahi-plex.service.
Nov 23 18:52:35 localhost.localdomain systemd[1]: Stopped amahi-plex.service.
[root@localhost ~]#

Also if I query the RPM i get nothing either

[root@localhost ~]# rpm -ql amahi-plex
package amahi-plex is not installed

So it doesn't look like its actually installed? but then the dashboard says it is

Plex Media Server Server Stopped

Any ideas?

Right

======= app install begin @ 2014-11-23 19:49:14 +0000 ==========
Installing app id y47iytek0u under /var/hda/platform/html/script/.. ENV=produ$
Your HDA services have been restarted.
Your HDA services have been restarted.
App: Plex Media Server installed
======= app install end @ 2014-11-23 19:49:15 +0000 ==========

I know it's installing but still doing this

Do the following as root user:

Code: Select all

yum list amahi-plex
If it shows available, but not installed then that is the issue. The amahi-app-installer.log often does not display errors for RPMs that do not install.

Ok, then list try this as root user:

Code: Select all

yum clean metadata yum list amahi-plex
It appears you are not seeing the latest repo packages. I might suggest you do a OS update if you have not already.

Forgot to ask last time, but is this the Amahi Express DVD install?

Yes, this is the latest Express CD Downloaded

Would a yum upgrade/update be sufficient?

Yes a yum update should be fine. Do not do an upgrade as Amahi only works on Fedora 19.

It did a lot of updates - around 200

I then run these commands

8 metadata files removed
6 sqlite files removed
0 metadata files removed
[root@localhost ~]# yum list amahi-plex

Hmmmm. Try

Code: Select all

yum clean all
If that still does not work, then I suggest you file a bug report. We need to chase this one down. Please add as many details as possible to the report.
