Playing Video Shares thru Roku

I checked that app store and I didn't see an obvious app that I could install server side to allow my Rokhu to access my video shares.
That said, I've got some partial progress, though I don't know it'll lead to success.
(1) I tried using Twonky beam (installed on my iphone), and that is able to see all the Amahi video shares, but I receive an error upon try to beam those video choices to my TV. When I select the files on the twonky app on the iphone, this activates the TV (via Roku), but then I receive an error that it can't play the file.
Any idea if this is a permissions issue. Again, the twonky-beam iphone app can see all my movie shares, right down to the files themselves.
Did some searching here, and didn't see too much on Twonky specifically (some, but not useful).
(2) I did however see some back and forth on Roksbox, including the wiki. However, I am stuck on step 1 of the wiki, because I don't see a "web apps" choice on my hda. I see an apps choice. Perhaps this is referring to an older version of the HDA? Is there a work around ? Or, is this a dated wiki ?
Here are the first few steps (boldface), quoted from the roksbox wiki. Again, I don;t see a webapps section on my HDA. Just an apps button.
Roksbox is a channel on Roku that allows you to stream media from your NAS to view on your TV. The following steps will set up your HDA to work with the Roksbox channel. This works for Roku HD. I cannot attest that the same will work on other models.
1) Go to \\HDA, Setup, Webapps, Create New Web App
2) Name your new web app "roksbox"
More generally, is it in principle possible to use my roku the way I use my TV -- i.e., as a client of the Amahi mini dlna server ? My TV can see and play video files on my shares. Would the Roku be able to do the same (assuming it's running the right app).
Any thoughts much appreciated !
Thanks
