Mediatomb unable to set up FLAC library

Postby ltmachado » Tue Oct 09, 2012 3:14 pm

Hello All, I'm a Linux/Amahi noob so sorry if I miss anything obvious here.
Built a new Amahi server over the weekend to replace a WHS box.
I have two music libraries, one is created with iTunes (.m4a), the other with DBPoweramp (.flac).
The .m4a files I have set up on the existing "Music" share.
The .flac files I have set up on a share called "Music_CD".
Both shares have the same properties for access, etc.
When I add the "Music" (.m4a) share to Mediatomb via the web-interface, it scans the files and creates the usual Artist/Album/ blah blah listings within the "Database" tree.
However, when I add the "Music_CD" share (.flac) to Mediatomb, nothing happens. No Artist/Album categories, no nothing. I can see the files only under the "PC Directory" tree.
When I use any of my PCs to connect to Mediatomb, only the iTunes albums show up.
I tried just adding the flac library alone, still no results.

What did I miss here? I tried a "File -L -i" command (all music files are on greyhole) and it reported "audio/x-flac" so I can't see where the import.js script is failing here...

Any help would be appreciated!

LTM

Is this Ubuntu or Fedora? MediaTomb is not working correctly on Ubuntu and currently ALPHA.

If it's Fedora, did you check out the wiki or MediaTomb web site?

I'm on Fedora 14.
I did spend some time on the wiki site, and at SourceForge.net, and so far haven't turned up much. Most posts deal with transcoding, which I don't want to do.
My best guess so far is the tags on my dBpoweramp created .flac files are somehow not compatable with the import script, but I don't know how to verifiy this.

That is possible. Only recommendation I could offer is to check the software's web site. Most have forums and might be something there to guide you.
