manual update SqueezeServer to 7.5.2 possible? -SOLVED-

Postby koffie » Tue Dec 28, 2010 3:19 pm

Hi,

1st: I love AMAHI and the essential (for me) SqueezeServer support and I am very grateful for such a wonderful product. Thanks for your efforts guys(/girls?).

I have a slight problem. According to a Logitech support rep.:

Due to the difference in 'version' between the SqueezeServer software (currently 7.5.1 on Amahi) and the MySqueezebox.com website (apparently the equivalent of the current SqueezeServer "7.5.2"), my squeezeboxes keep installing new firmware required for mysqueezebox.com when I connect, and reinstalling when I reconnect to SqueezeServer again.

This takes almost 2 minutes, and is rather irritating. So my question:
Can I manually update SqueezeServer to the latest 7.5.2 version (download the rpm and install) without messing up the system? Will I be able to unstall/install through the AMAHI interface later?

I don't wanna push you people for the latest version every time Logitech thinks it is time for an update, but could you advise me how I can best update to the newest version of SqueezeServer? I am not a complete newbie, but I cannot white AMAHI install scripts myself... Wish I could (help).

Thanks for your advice.

I am stupid, sorry. Few posts down I discovered a post that answers my question perfectly.
Sorry for littering on your forum. Please remove my thread if necessary, mods.

Apologies.

However, Bigfoot65, if you were to update the amahi install package for SqueezeServer again....

Updated to the latest version.
Thanks. Could it be that you forgot to update the version number?. Both on the webpage and on the 'dashboard > applications > available' it says 7.5.1. But because I already uninstalled 7.5.1 (...) I had to install again and it installed 7.5.2.

Anyway, thanks!
