Amahi DLNA doesn't rescan automatically

Postby jimtremblay » Thu Nov 25, 2010 8:06 pm

Hi,
maybe someone can help me, but DLNA app doesn't scan folder automatically. I have enable inotify option and set my folders in conf file (music, video, photo), but the only way to see newly added files on client is to restart DLNA.

Can you help me?

Jim

Normally it works.

Now, where are your files?

I am pretty certain on a regular drive mounted as ext2/3/4 it works ok. I am not sure if you mount the files over the network or from an NTFS drive or something like that whether that will work.

My files are in /var/hda/files/video and separated into directory like animes, action, thriller, ... I have enable greyhole for this share and my drive in storage pool are formatted as ext4. If I create a new directory into video and add in some files, it never appears on dlna client.

Shoot. Greyhole uses links behind the scenes to keep things all sorted out.

I wonder if that is what breaks DLNA ...

Damn. Please file a bug with details. Adding a folder should work, I think, since that's a real folder. Adding files adds links.

Can you file a bug and we'll ask you for details there?

I have filled a bug for DLNA.

I think this apply to AmahiTunes too... I don't see any of my music files in AmahiTunes pages, they are all in shared folder music and this share use storage pool like video for DLNA.

I have this issue too. seen a couple other posts about similar problems with one thing in common: Users have sub-directories under the main directory (i.e. movies/crime drama/legally blonde 2/terrible.avi). any news on a fix or a hack?

i have this same issue...
i have my movies in the predefined folder /var/hda/files/movies/
i got them sorted into subcategories like Action, Drama and Comedy but i added two more subdirectories and one week in i still have no access to these and can't find them anywhere.
i installed uShare and it finds all the movies but i don't like it 'cos it don't handle the files as i want...

i got three drives in my system, drive one is main, drives two and three are mounted as /var/hda/files/download and /var/hda/files/movies
i am not using greyhole or similar technology

is there a way to initiate a rescan?
