DLNA folders

Postby chrisclaydon » Fri Sep 10, 2010 10:06 am

hi i have now got my amahi server up and running with dlna media server but i have just realised that when connecting to the server to play my movie files that are stored in different folders eg dvd, divx,tv programs, etc but they are all displayed as being all in one large folder this is not ideal for me as there is 700 movie files of different types so to browse for a particular file is now long winded ,so does anyone know of a way to have more folder titles available as is possible with twonky media server any ideas would be welcome

Have you checked out the wiki?

http://wiki.amahi.org/index.php/Dlna

There might be additional information in the wiki or in the forums. I do not use this app, so cannot be of much assistance.

Depending on what yuo are using this can be easy or not possible.

MS MediaPlayer and MediaCenter are not nice.
SMplayer can be used by scrolling to teh directory ...

I'm using to different front ends:

Moovidia on Ubuntu - no problem to find the folder
Used it on W7 and it was ok.

XBMC on W7 and WXP - this is the best, you can find anything and look fantastic.

For music I prefer still my old trusted friend MusicBee. Thanks to Steven Mayall for this grate program.
