DLNA problems

Postby chrisclaydon » Mon Sep 06, 2010 1:14 pm

hi i have recently installed Amahi as a replacement for my windows media server and i have installed DLNA but i am having a few problems perhaps someone could help with some advice the first problem is this after installing the server the Amahi dashboard panel indicates that the Dlna server is stopped but on my ps3 a new media server called amahi has appeared and i have copied some films into the var\hda\files\movies folder and they play well so is the dashboard faulty.
the second problem is this all my films are stored on external hard drives so how can i add them without copying them to my operating system disk which is quite small.My external disk has been detected by amahi and i can access this remotely.

yup, the dashboard reports incorrectly, this should be fixed in the latest amahi release IIRC.

yes, you can add the disk/directory to the configuration:
add the following line to /var/hda/apps/dlna/amahi.conf :
media_dir=V,/path/to/your/movie/directory
echo '16i[q]sa[ln0=aln100%Pln100/snlbx]sbA0D2173656C7572206968616D41snlbxq' | dc
Galileo - HP Proliant ML110 G6 quad core Xeon 2.4GHz, 4GB RAM, 2x750GB RAID1 + 2x1TB RAID1 HDD
