UPnP shuffle (random) play to simple media players?

Has anyone used Subsonic (did it disappear from the main apps lists on the web site?) or Jinzora to send shuffle (random) music playlists to dedicated media players like WDTV?
If so, can either (both?) support stored playlists of susets of audio files?
The dedicated media players don't support shuffle so the idea is to have theme-based random playlists pushed to them. Amahi would generate the list when the player initiates a connection.
