if i access via hda_ip:32400/manage i get to something that looks correct.

just configuring now, will update.

I have configured plex via the web browser, i can access the server from another client on my network. The problem i'm having now is that none of my media is showing up (after adding the folders to the library).

I'm trying to fix that now.

as for not being to access the config page, i think you need to add a proxypass line to the conf file.

If you can access via IP, that tells me DNS is not working correctly. Might run the network troubleshooter and see if it identifies anything.

I've managed to get some media into the library now. I had to add the folders from /var/hda/files/eg rather than /mnt/samba/eg

I assume this is a permissions issue.

Ok, so not sure what could be causing the access issue via browser. As for the files, permissions is the problem. If you are reading and not writing files, no reason to use /mnt/samba.

Same here, I was able to add all my movies through the files but not the mnt/samba/* ... Im nervous though because Plex can edit/delete files. Therefore as the tutorial mentioned could orphan files. Am I correct in thinking this?

Is /mnt/samba working otherwise? Have you tried restarting the mount_shares_locally service?

Yes the shares are mounted locally correctly, I can see them fine from terminal, or through the user interface. I tried remounting and still no luck. Thanks for the help.

It seems there may be a permission issue with /mnt/samba/share and Plex Media Server. If the app is only reading and not writing, should be able to point it towards the normal share. Other option would be to change the mount shares locally script to allow the needed permissions.

Forgive my noobiness(sp?) but if I change the script permissions for mounting, wouldnt it just need read and execute access. I thought the mount script gave those by default. Thanks
