Amahitunes 'file not found' errors on network share

So here's my situation: I got all my music files on a windows machine, which directory is shared and mounted under the /var/hda/files/music directory in a directory called shared.
AmahiTunes is able to index these files, they all show up in the web interface when you do a search, but when you try to play them or download them, you get a 'file not found' error.

What I've discovered so far is that, when the directory is mounted, the daapd daemon keeps restarting. Also, when I copy a file from the /var/hda/files/music/shared/ directory into the music directory, the files suddenly can be played as it should.
I've checked the rights on the mount, and the files in the mount, and they are the same as the files in the music directory. So I'm unsure what to do - and no, I don't want to have to copy all files onto the Amahi server, because the Windows file server functions fine.
