New test release of the DLNA server (w/ restart option on)

Postby cpg » Sun Jan 24, 2010 6:53 pm

here is a new test release of Amahi DLNA with the playlist additions and the rescan option (-R flag) added by default.

- 32bits: http://alpha.amahi.org/tmp/amahi-dlna-0.91-7.i686.rpm
- 64bits: http://alpha.amahi.org/tmp/amahi-dlna-0.91-7.x86_64.rpm

please take it to town and test that if you change the conf file and a so a service amahi-dlna restart, t sees the new settings!

as usual, if you can find time to file a bug or feature requests for these things, it's better, for tracking purposes :)

please rate it on the DLNA app page! we are going to start sorting and organizing apps and your votes will count!

please reply here how it works for you!

Hi!

I've just installed the rpm-package (32 Bit). Besides that I've installed the bot RPM Fusion Apps.

What further configuration steps are necessary now? Haven't found any manual. The APP doesn't appear on the Dashboard.

Thank your for your help!

Please report how it works for you for your client in the DLNA wiki page.

I am completely new to Amahi, installed Amahi and DLNA for the first time yesterday. Copied a video file to my video share in Amahi and was able to play the file back from my PS3. Phew...I was expecting headaches but was pleasantly surprised. Haven't played with it more than that so far.

One thing though, a DLNA link shows up in my Amahi Dashboard...but when I click it, this takes me to an error page. Is this supposed to serve any purpose?

no, it's a bug.

in fact, i don't think the link shows up unless you click "Show on dashboard" which in this case is disabled by default because this app does not have a web interface that can be linked to.

the correct solution is to disable that checkbox.

Hi there. I have posted this elsewhere but this looks like the best place to have a go;

DLNA server installs well and I can see all the local media on my xbox fine. I also have a bufallo NAS drive and I mapped the pic, video and music shares in there to a sub folder called NAS in each /var/hda/files/media folder successfully so I can now see them all in nautilus etc. I think I modified the amahi.conf file correctly to scan the new sub-folders correctly but when I go to my xbox, I only see a fraction of the movies and no music or pics from the NAS.

Would I be better mapping these NAS drives to other folders that are not sub-folders or is this a small bug?

Great app by the way.

OK, problem solved. No need to map a sub-folder as the server will scan the music but the photo and video side of things does show the sub folders with the files within. Needed to stop the server and delete the files.db within /tmp/minidlna then restarted and all was well.

Lovely smooth app
