So I am continuing to slowly explore the potential of my amahi server. Have added additional disks, which have different shares for music and video than the defaults. I have installed both Jinzora and Ampache, and when I try and point them to the new media folders (Jinzora), or build a new catalog (Ampache), I get an error: "is not readable or does not exist". The paths are /var/hda/files/drives/drive1/OurMusic and /var/hda/files/drives/drive1/OurMovies.
In Jinzora, the path is accepted, but when I try and scan the folders, nothing is imported.
If I add media to the default path /var/hda/files/music, it works. Have looked at the wiki, but the solutions don't work. I suspect it is a permissions error, or have seen posts on other sites about the php.ini file.
Any insight would be much appreciated.
Sincerely,
A linux noob

Re: Jinzora or Ampache error: additional media paths
Yes could be a permissions error. Check to see that both the folders are owned by your user. The syntax to change it is:
Replace username with your admin user and /path/to/files with the two you mentioned.
Code: Select all
chown -R username:users /path/to/filesßîgƒσστ65

Thanks for the reply, bigfoot65. Using the terminal and logging in with su - I ran those commands. No errors during those commands, but it didn't help get access to those folders. I appreciate any other thoughts.
