Hello everyone.
I've a problem with Squeezebox on Amahi 5/Fedora 12. I had Squeezebox Server installed until a couple of days ago, when I tried to upgrade to Fedora 12. Due to lack of space the Fedora update failed and I reverted to 12. Squeeezebox then failed to work so I uninstalled so as to reinstall.
The problem is that Squeezebox now doesn't appear on the list of avalable apps so I can't reinstall it.
Hope someone can help.

Squeezebox Server Reinstall Problem
Re: Squeezebox Server Reinstall Problem
The app is not live in Fedora 14, still in beta. It will be soon once testing is complete. If you can PM me your amahi.org user name, I can grant you access to help test.
We would appreciate any feedback on how it works.

Re: Squeezebox Server Reinstall Problem
I've now upgraded to Amahi 6, purchased Squeezebox server and installed it.
It doesn't work, giving the message "The server is temporarily unable to service your request due to maintenance downtime or capacity problems. Please try again later."

Re: Squeezebox Server Reinstall Problem
Please check the install log /var/log/amahi-app-installer.log and report any errors. Also, have you tried a reboot.

Re: Squeezebox Server Reinstall Problem
No errors in the logfile. I have rebooted several times and reinstalled several times to no effect. However, when I VNC in to the server I can see a boot error message which reads:
Starting Squeezebox Server: The following CPAN modules were found but cannot work with Squeezebox Server:
CGI::Cookie (loaded <not found>, need 1.27)
To fix this problem you have several options:
1. Install the latest version of the module(s) using CPAN: sudo cpan Some::Module
2. Update the module's package using apt-get, yum, etc.
3. Run the .tar.gz version of Squeezebox Server which includes all required CPAN modules.
Also, I now have a problem with the Greyhole Server not running which I'll post elsewhere. Only mentioning it in case it has some bearing on this problem.

Re: Squeezebox Server Reinstall Problem
I found the following solution to my problem by looking at this link: http://vortexbox.org/forum/help/squeeze ... r-unknown/
In a terminal on the HDA do the following:
Type 'yum install perl-CPAN' and accept all the prompts
Type 'cpan' and accept all defaults (configuring cpan takes a while)
At the cpan prompt type 'force install CGI::Cookie'
Leave cpan by typing 'quit'
Type '/etc/init.d/squeezeboxserver start' to start squeezeserver
A shorter solution appears further down the page I linked to but I didn't try that as I had already used the one above, which works for me.

Re: Squeezebox Server Reinstall Problem
I just tested this in a Fedora 14 VM with AMahi installed and no updates. It worked perfectly and on reboot there were no errors.
So, it appears this is caused by the upgrade. Could you please put this info in the wiki for others? I will ensure there is a page set aside for it.
Also, was your system up to date with the latest Fedora 14 patches when you began having these issues? It is possible that might have been part of the issue.

Re: Squeezebox Server Reinstall Problem
I'm happy to post this in the wiki but I don't know how!
To answer your question, I presume that the latest patches had been installed as I upgraded to Fedora 14 from Fedora 12 as detailed on Amahi upgrade wiki immediately before installing Squeezebox.

Re: Squeezebox Server Reinstall Problem
Errrr,
Bigfoot, I have a similar problem. I'm still in Amahi 5 because I need apps like Squeezeserver that are still in Beta in 6. But I stupidly decided to upgrade my squeezeserver 7.5.2 to 7.5.3. Having seen the 'live', non-Beta, status of 7.5.3 in the apps list for Fedora 12/Amahi 5, I assumed I would be able to install it. So I uninstalled 7.5.2. Now I find Squeezeserver is not in the list of installable apps, because it is still in beta for Amahi 6.
This could have been made more clear in the announcement for Amahi 6: You can't install any apps that are in beta for Amahi 6, even if you're still on 5! Or am I mistaken?
I would really like to install Squeezeserver, even 7.5.2. Please?
