OK as I try to rebuild by system and add drives, this command doesn't work to install nano.
"dnf -y install pmount fuse fuse-libs ntfs-3g util-linux-ng parted nano"
Neither does "dnf install nano". I'm logged in as root. get the error below. Losing confidence here
Curl error (6): Couldn't resolve host name for https://mirrors.fedoraproject.org/metal ... rch=x86_64 [Could not resolve host: mirrors.fedoraproject.org]
Can't ping mirrors.fedoraproject.org either.
CLOSED: Can't see partitions on all my disks
Re: Can't see partitions on all my disks
That indicates there is no network connectivity. I presume you only have a single network interface, correct?
If you are using Express DVD, recommend you switch to Minimal Install CD. The Express DVD does not work well for many users.
Sorry things continue to be a struggle.

Re: Can't see partitions on all my disks
Network seems fine. I can see the shares from my pcs and I have internet. Not sure why I couldn't install nano but I did successfully make the change to fstab and now I have my 1st additional 2tb drive mounted automatically. It shows up in disks and the new partition is there on the partitions tab.
So..... now how do I create a share on the new drive? The wiki refers to a "path" entry... but there is no path entry when I click the "new share" button. Only "name", "visible" and "read only". Do I enter the full path in the name field or ?????

Re: Can't see partitions on all my disks
OK i guess i get it now. I guess the new 2tb drive is the new "one and only" location for hda files (unless i do disk pooling)? This probably isn't going to work for me. EDIT. Nope that's not it. New shares still go to sda.
Re: Can't see partitions on all my disks
You have to create the share on the desired disk. Then manually update the dashboard share path to the new location.
The only way to make it automatically go to the other drive is to mount that drive as /var/hda/files.
That should have been outlined in the guidance for adding drives.
Also, you need to select Advanced Settings to see additional options in the Shares tab.

Re: Can't see partitions on all my disks
"You have to create the share on the desired disk." How? Sorry, I just don't see where to do that. Doesn't need to be automatic. Yes I have the advanced box checked in settings.
Re: Can't see partitions on all my disks
You create the directory on the desired disk via command line. Then ensure the file permissions are set correctly and change the path in the Shares tab.
Making it automatic would be best as you could do it all from the dashboard. That would also dedicate the drive to just file shares.

Re: Can't see partitions on all my disks
I got it! Thanks for all your help. I now have shares on "drive1". On to drive 2. I think we can close this one.
