SOLVED: problems accesing private IP ranhe (192.168.x.x)

Hi,
I recently changed my Amahi server to use the google DNS entries (don't know if this is relevant).
I am stuck now trying to access my router (192.168.2.4), Http://hda or 192.168.2.99 (address of HDA), any of these sites give me "unable to connect" in Firefox, or "Hmm.. can't reach that page" in MS Edge.
Every other site on the internet works fine.
I can't ping the router or the HDA from my windows machine, and can't reach them via browser.

Changing the DNS should not have mattered.

You may need to restart your network. Turn off all clients and cycle your router. Next turn the HDA back on and see if that fixes it.

I presume you are using the HDA for DHCP and DNS server.

I have tried a flurry of network reset commands on the windows machine, uninstalling the adapter, etc,.. to no avail. this windows machine is the only one on the network with the problem. I don't get it. The name "router" or hda resolves in the ping command, but the ping (or tracert) give me a general failure message.

PLease disregard. This tuned out to be a problem with a NordVPN setting: Make PC invisible on LAN which needs to be deactivated. I don't remeber setting it, but I could have, maybe an update... thanks for the help, and sorry for the curve ball.
