The only gui application I have found to copy files from my old hda to a my new hda is via a Windows File Manager or Mac Finder client.
This leads to rather poor performance, as my clients are connected via Wifi, and the copying travels over the client. While my 2 hda's are hooked up to the same 1Gb Ethernet switch.
What would be an easy way to copy files from one hda to another hda directly?
Would it have to be through command line (rcp or such)? Or does there exist an app in the amahi app store that supports this?

Search the internet. You might try the how to transfer files/directories between servers.

There is no Amahi app.
