CLOSED: Greyhole interfering with DLNA?

Hi,

I'm having problems setting up my HDA to stream music and video. I install DLNA and the default "Movies" and "Music" shares show up on my TV and music streamer as they should, and successfully stream content. Then I install Greyhole and set it to add those shares to the storage pool.

At this point, my TV and music streamer can still see the server and the contents of the shares, but can no longer stream the content. For example, my music streamer gives an error saying the content no longer exists. When I remove the shares from the storage pool, things start working again (after refreshing the cache etc. on the client devices).

Does anyone know what might be happening here?

Thanks.

Do you have Mount Shares Locally installed?

Anytime you or a app manipulates files directly on the server, this needs to be installed.

Thanks for getting back to me so quickly! I haven't setup mount shares locally. Would you explain why this might help? The only data being written to the HDA is done by dragging and dropping onto mounted shares on my client Macbook.

dlna App does not work with Greyhole enabled shares unless you install the Mount Shares Locally script.

You will likely need to change the media_dir=V,/var/hda/files/movies line to point to locally mount share path. For example, I believe it's /mnt/samba/movies for the Movies share.

Thanks - that will be the problem then. I'm a complete beginner, so I'm just going to not use Greyhole for the sake of simplicity.

Thanks for your help.
