My network went down, so I tried to ssh into my HDA. Couldn't do it. Turned it on and off with soft power switch. Still no response to ssh. Connected monitor. Boot stuck at "/dev/sde failed S.M.A.R.T."
Ran smartctl --all, here is the https://paste.fedoraproject.org/paste/M ... uqYa1NeZNg
I have all the essential files backed up, so losing the array wouldn't be the end of the world.
I've got a very large external drive on the way to back up the remaining non-essential files.
Then what? If it's just one bad WD 5TB hard drive, I can buy a replacement, and rebuild the array, but if other drives are also on their last legs, then I'm not really sure what I should do. If I have to replace the entire 4x5TB array, I might as well build a new server as the drives are the main driver of the server cost.
Any advice?
One hard drive in RAID5 failed S.M.A.R.T., replace drive(s)?
