installed Fedora 25 minimal. installed Amahi basic. logged into server on the machine, worked. Got ip. went to to laptop on network. used PuTTy, able to log in. used dns name logged in successful. today cannot login, not the machine nor from remote on same network. Some help please. Do I reinstall everything? pw is correct, written down.

Try restarting the server.

Also try to access it via http://hda

I did reboot and am able to connect, however, if I disconnect the keyboard, mouse and monitor and make it headless (head only?) I seem to get the login issue.Very strange! Would enabling Network card bootrom in bios help?
I have not gotten round to enable DNS and DHCP. I have some people sharing my internet off my router as a guest network and if I switch and if they loose their internet connection they may get upset. The other concern is if my "guest" get their DHCP from my server, they may be able to access my home network/files?

There may be some manual configuration needed to get it working without those connected. Try removing the monitor and see if things still work after reboot. Then do the mouse. If it's still working, last try removing the keyboard. It may be something that needs set so it does not look for a keyboard. I have never heard of this issue, but stranger things have happened.

No, that has nothing to do with booting the server.

They should only have access if you give them a user on the HDA. To access files, a user name and password is needed.

Fedora crashed when i was fiddling around with adding disks and moving the share //hda/books(have 2 extra one tera disks in the box) decided to play around and installed Fedora 26. Earlier was having issues with not booting with keyboard and /mouse detached. Following the kindly help and suggestion of Bigfoot, worked itself out, now the crash. This box is just a hashed up Asus P5Q-EM motherboard and a dual core pentium 3.0 Mhz, with 4 GB Ram. Main drive WD 500 GB 2dr WD 1TB and 3rd drv 1 TB hitachi. Was wondering will Amahi run on an old HP proliant DL140 server machine with Xenon 2.3 Quad core, 16 GB ram? Thanks for any input.

Fedora 26 is not supported.

As for hardware, as long as it meets requirements you should be fine.
